Description :
1965 Craftsman IronGrip Rotating Bench Clamp, 6-Inch Edition This is a heavy-duty bench vise produced by Craftsman, featuring a 6-inch jaw width and an integrated swivel base for rotational positioning. The tool includes dual slide mechanisms activated by a metal tightening handle and is intended for secure clamping during metalworking, woodworking, or general bench tasks. The cast iron frame is cast with the Craftsman name and the number "6" indicating its jaw size. Jaw inserts are grooved for gripping, and the base contains mounting points for bolting the vise to a work surface. This model reflects a utilitarian approach to mechanical clamping and work holding. Manufactured in the mid-1960s, this vise belongs to a line of Sears Craftsman bench tools recognized for their no-frills construction and emphasis on reliability. During this period, Craftsman emphasized industrial-strength durability across its workshop equipment, aimed at serving both amateur tinkerers and professional tradespeople. This particular model was part of Sears’ initiative to offer affordable, precision-machined vises with wide jaw capacities and rotating bases for enhanced flexibility in fixed workspaces. Its straightforward design remains emblematic of mid-century American tool engineering. Materials Made Of: Cast iron, steel Measurements: 6 1/2 Wide Bite
