Johnny Lightning 2017 Ford Chassis Base – China Issue This is a 1:64-scale die-cast vehicle released by Johnny Lightning, jointly branded under TOMY International, Inc. and Round 2, LLC. The underside includes inscriptions indicating a 2017 release, citing earlier licensing origins from ©2004 Playing Mantis, and was manufactured in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. The molded plastic chassis features licensing language and batch coding that reflect standard production and legal identifiers used by Round 2 for die-cast replicas of American vehicles. While the top body isn’t visible, this particular baseplate construction is commonly associated with Johnny Lightning's muscle car or vintage American series. Manufactured in 2017, this casting stems from Round 2’s revival of the Johnny Lightning brand under the TOMY umbrella. The presence of both Round 2 and Playing Mantis indicates licensing continuity from earlier acquisitions.
