Chinese Celadon Bowl Twin Fish Motif Imperial Mark
Ming Dynasty Style This Chinese celadon bowl features the classic twin
fish motif molded in relief within the central medallion, symbolizing abundance
and marital harmony in traditional Chinese culture. The bowl displays the
characteristic pale green celadon glaze that pools beautifully in the recessed
areas, enhancing the dimensional quality of the swimming fish rendered in
opposite directions. The Longquan kilns tradition of twin fish dishes dates
from the Southern Song (1127-1279) or Yuan (1279-1368) periods Southern Song
or Yuan Longquan Celadon Twin Fish Dish, 13th or 14th Century - Robert

though this example bears an imperial blue underglaze mark suggesting later
production or imperial patronage. The shallow form with gently curved sides
represents the refined aesthetic of Chinese ceramic artistry, while the
unglazed foot rim reveals the natural clay body beneath the lustrous celadon
surface. Longquan celadon twin fish bowls originated during
the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279) and continued through the Yuan and Ming

Invoices are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed.Full payment must be made by 8:00 p.m. the day after auction closes. If total payment is not received before the pick-up date & time, items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked.
Pick-up information will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes.All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. When possible, and at our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee will be charged.
A Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers.
