Description :
Uranium Green Rim Pressed Glass Tumbler Trio Mid-Century 1960s–70s This group contains three Uranium drinking tumblers produced using press-molded glass techniques during the 1960s
to 1970s. Each piece is decorated with diagonal surface texture and finished
with a green-tinted rim, offering subtle visual contrast. Initially
misidentified as green-based vessels, the corrected analysis confirms that the
coloration appears at the drinking edge. These tumblers represent industrial
domestic design from the post-war era, when molded glass emphasized durability,
uniformity, and restrained decoration in household utility items across Western
and East Asian markets. In the decades following World
War II, glass production shifted toward automation, facilitating the rise of
press-molded techniques. Designers began adding light color accents—such as rim
tints—to elevate everyday glassware. The green rim motif reflects mid-century
sensibilities, valuing understated aesthetic enhancements over ornate
embellishment. Measurements: 2 5/8"W x 4 1/8"H
