Description :
Porcelain Bird Plate China Bowl
Lacquer Box 1970s–1980s Set This set contains three
mid-century decorative pieces produced for export and household display. The
porcelain plate features a hand-painted motif of a bird and butterfly among
floral branches, stamped “CHINA” on the base. The ceramic bowl has a smooth
blue glazed interior and green floral motif along the exterior, also marked
“CHINA” in red text, matching late 20th-century export conventions. The black
lacquered trinket box has a glossy patterned lid, square form, protective rubber
feet, and an adhesive label reading “1010 WTR 25.” Each item was created
between the 1970s and 1980s when East Asian decorative arts adapted traditional
styles for mass-market international appeal. During the 1970s to 1980s,
Chinese and Japanese decorative ware entered global markets through export
agreements that transformed artisan motifs into commercial forms. Common
subjects such as birds, blossoms, and nature were reimagined in ceramics and
lacquerware aligned with modern domestic aesthetics. Standardized “CHINA” marks
supported international distribution, while Japanese lacquerware continued
stylized pattern techniques for small accessory formats. Measurements: Round Bowl:3 3/8" Around x 1 1/2"H Hand painted tray: 3 1/2" Square Wood Box: 3 7/8" Square
