Description :
Grape Vine Scroll Silverplate English
Centerpiece Server Dish This is a vintage English
silver-plated oval serving dish featuring a deeply embossed grapevine and
scroll motif around the rim. Manufactured in Sheffield, England, it bears
clearly defined stamp marks including “SHEFFIELD” and “SILVERPLATED,” as well
as pseudo hallmarks typical of electroplated ware from the early to mid-20th
century. Sheffield was a central hub for British silver manufacturing,
particularly known for its development of silverplate techniques in the 19th
century. The form and decorative border suggest its use as a formal centerpiece
or serving tray, aligning with post-Victorian dining traditions. The surface
shows typical signs of use consistent with age and function, and the overall
craftsmanship reflects the industrial precision of its period. Materials made of Measurements: 17 1/2"L x 13 3/4"W
Silver-plated copper alloy
