Description :
Mid-Century Silver Teapot With Hinged Lid And “45” Mark Description: A silver-toned teapot manufactured between the
1950s and 1970s, featuring a vertically ribbed lower body, smooth upper band,
domed lid with radial fluting, and a molded tiered finial. The lid is hinged to
the body and opens to reveal a smooth interior chamber. A molded black handle,
likely Bakelite or early plastic, is mounted with metal fasteners. The curved
spout includes subtle decorative shaping at its base. A gold-toned vertical
line along the body indicates a restored crack, executed in a style visually
consistent with kintsugi—a Japanese-inspired aesthetic repair philosophy. The
underside of the teapot bears a stamped “46” mark; however, no
manufacturer branding, hallmarking, or inscriptions are present elsewhere on
the lid, body, spout, or handle. The utilitarian form and unbranded finish
reflect mid-century silver-plated domestic serveware distributed through
department store channels during the post-war expansion of household goods. Materials made of: Silver-toned metal; molded plastic Measurements: 9" Handle to Spout x 3 3/4"W
