Description :
1968 Lesney Matchbox Series No. 2 Mercedes Utility Trailer – Green Base Variant This is a die-cast Matchbox Series No. 2 Mercedes Trailer, manufactured in England by Lesney Products. The trailer features a green-painted metal chassis with a molded flatbed and integrated tow bar, designed to pair with the No. 1 Mercedes Truck from the same series. It includes black plastic wheels mounted on metal axles and a simple hitching mechanism for coupling. The underside is embossed with the Matchbox branding and model designation. This trailer was part of the early Matchbox 1–75 range and reflects the utilitarian styling of mid-century European commercial vehicles in miniature form. Released in 1968, this model was part of Lesney’s expansion of the Matchbox Series into international markets. The Mercedes Trailer was designed to complement the No. 1 Mercedes Truck and was often sold as a standalone or in boxed sets. Lesney’s use of durable die-cast construction and simple rolling components made it a staple in children’s toy collections and a recognizable piece among vintage Matchbox collectors. The green base variant is one of several colorways produced during its run, reflecting subtle changes across production batches. Materials Made Of: Die-cast metal, plastic
