Description :
Chinese Celadon
Bowl Mid-20th Century Crackle Glaze Green Ceramic This Chinese
celadon bowl displays the traditional pale green glaze characteristic of this
ceramic tradition. The piece features an extensive crackle pattern throughout
the surface, created through controlled cooling processes that produce the
distinctive network of fine hairline cracks. The bowl has a classic rounded
form with gently sloping sides and a slightly recessed center well. The foot
ring shows proper unglazed construction typical of quality Chinese ceramics.
The glaze exhibits subtle tonal variations from pale mint to deeper sage green,
with the crackling adding textural interest across the entire surface. This
bowl represents the continuing tradition of Chinese celadon production, drawing
inspiration from classical Song dynasty aesthetics while employing traditional
firing and glazing techniques. Mid-20th
century, likely 1950s-1960s. Chinese celadon ceramics have been produced for
over a thousand years, with this piece continuing the tradition of creating
functional and decorative pottery using the distinctive pale green glaze and
intentional crackle patterns that became signatures of Chinese ceramic
artistry. Materials Made
