Description :
Antique European Porcelain Covered Dish Hand Painted
Floral Gilt This elegant three-piece porcelain serving set
exemplifies European ceramic artistry from the 18th to 19th century period. The
covered dish features delicate hand-painted floral motifs including roses,
violets, and other garden flowers in vibrant purples, yellows, oranges, and
blues scattered across the white porcelain surface. The domed lid is crowned
with an intricately detailed acorn-shaped finial surrounded by molded leaves.
Gold trim accents the edges and decorative elements throughout the piece. The
matching underplate displays a sophisticated rococo-style scalloped rim with
raised relief work and continues the floral theme with scattered blossoms. Blue
underglaze maker's marks are visible on the base, though the specific
manufacturer requires further research. This type of serving dish was
traditionally used for presenting preserves, butter, or other accompaniments
during formal dining occasions. The piece demonstrates the high level of
craftsmanship typical of European porcelain manufactories of this era. Materials: Fine porcelain with hand-painted enamel
decoration and gold gilding. Measurements: Butter holder section: 3 7/8" around x 1 1/2"H Cover: 4 11/16 around x 4 1/2"H
