This is a matched set of two large round silverplated serving trays dating to the 1930s, each bearing marks from two distinct American manufacturers: F.S.D.U. and MBICO (Manhattan Brass Company). The trays are fully engraved on the interior surface with symmetrical scrollwork and decorated with raised grapevine borders around the edges, including grape-cluster adorned handles. One tray carries the F.S.D.U. triple hallmark in shield cartouches above the stamped word "COPPER", denoting a silverplated copper base. The other is stamped with MBICO and "Nickel Silver W.M. Mounts" alongside a 0072 inventory mark and "20 IN. U.S.A", indicating its 20-inch diameter and confirming American manufacture.
