Description :
Wm Rogers English Crescent Lot
Ornate Silverplate Trays 3pc This lot includes three distinct
silver-plated trays from noted American manufacturers of the 20th century. The
first is by Wm. Rogers (marked “Wm Rogers★ 162”), an established name in
American silverplate, operating under various Rogers family marks and later
associated with the International Silver Company. The second tray is from the
English Silver Mfg Corp (marked “English Silver Mfg Corp 629/13 Made in USA”),
a Brooklyn-based firm known for producing silver-plated hollowware in the
mid-1900s, frequently using ornate, Victorian-inspired designs. The third tray
is marked “Crescent 4018” with the crescent moon and animal hallmark, a
trademark of Crescent Silverware Mfg. Co., founded in Port Jervis, New York, in
the early 1900s. Each piece features intricate scroll and shell motifs engraved
or embossed on the surface, bordered by beaded or scalloped rims typical of
mid-century formal serving ware. These trays reflect popular mid-20th century
American interpretations of Victorian and Rococo revival styles. Measurements: Large Platter: 23"L - Handle end to handle end x 12 1/2" Round Platter: 15" Round Scallopped Rim: 12 1/2"
Silverplate over white metal (likely nickel or copper base).
