Description :

Cloisonné Dish, Red Bowl, Frog Holder, Lotus Beads & Chicken Art

This five-piece Asian-inspired lot features a range of decorative and utilitarian objects. First is a quatrefoil cloisonné dish with a pale celadon crackle enamel interior, hand-decorated with a pair of ripe pomegranates and leafy branches in vibrant enamel tones of orange, yellow, pink, and green. The rim is unmarked with a worn bronze-toned edge. Accompanying it is a deep red sang-de-boeuf glazed bowl with rich oxblood coloration, showing characteristic pooling and mottling throughout the interior and exterior. The base is fully unmarked, with an unglazed foot and visible concentric wheel marks. Also included is a string of matte-finished stone beads in earthy red, green, and brown tones, adorned with small metallic spacers and a round brass pendant bearing a stylized lotus flower design on one side; the opposite side of the pendant is plain, with no visible maker’s marks. A figural lacquered frog container is also present, finished in glossy black with hand-painted gold details along the snout, belly, and feet. This frog piece is a single, solid figure with a removable lower panel, likely intended for use as a novelty box or incense holder. Lastly, the lot includes a small rectangular portrait panel featuring a vivid painted image of a chicken perched among greenery, executed in a traditional Asian style. A Chinese character mark is clearly visible on the portrait surface, indicating potential origin or authorship. No additional maker's marks or hallmarks are visible on any of the items.
