Description :
SF Civic Light Opera Booklet – My Fair Lady (1965 Cast Edition) This rare and original booklet from the San Francisco Civic Light Opera’s 32nd Annual Season captures the grandeur and precision of its 1965 staging of My Fair Lady, one of the most beloved musicals in American theatre. Presented at the Curran Theatre, this production was not a touring version or generalized revival, but a locally mounted and fully realized staging that honored the original Lerner and Loewe masterpiece with its own distinct artistic identity. The production was helmed by Executive Stage Manager Bill Holland, whose oversight ensured seamless coordination across departments. Production Stage Manager Larry Dean and Assistant Stage Managers George Quick and Tom Gleason maintained the rhythm and integrity of each performance, supported by Production Assistant Herbert K. Adams, whose logistical expertise kept the show running smoothly. The choreography was upheld by Dance Captain Don George, whose leadership of the ensemble brought kinetic elegance to the show’s iconic musical numbers. Technical execution was led by Technical Director Warren Merkle, whose mastery of stagecraft translated into a visually rich and mechanically sound presentation. The ensemble featured a vibrant group of Buskers, including Roy Smith, Terry Demari, Wayne Dugger, and Lindsay Jones, who added texture and life to the bustling London street scenes. The role of Mrs. Enysford Hill was portrayed by Emma Trekman, contributing grace and refinement to the Ascot scene. Additional cast members included Barbara Williams, Robert Peterson, Nancy McCall, James Crumley, Joan Dwyer, Richard Gentry, Patricia Hart, John Haskell, Betty Lou Holland, Michael Kermoyan, Marilyn King, William LeMassena, John McCurry, Robert Moore, Helen Raymond, William Reilly, George Revelle, David Ross, Dorothy Stanley, and Robert Williams—each contributing to the rich tapestry of this production’s ensemble and featured roles. This booklet is a genuine artifact from the original San Francisco Civic Light Opera run, printed in classic monochrome with saddle-stitch binding and period-specific typography. It reflects the meticulous artistry and collaborative spirit of a production that honored the legacy of My Fair Lady while establishing its own place in California’s theatrical heritage. A must-have for collectors of regional theatre ephemera and connoisseurs of mid-century American stagecraft. Shipping Available: See “Learn
